Camilla von Hollay

Camilla from Hollay, also Hollay Kamilla, Kamilla native Hollay, ( born November 7, 1899 in Budapest, Austria - Hungary, † February 9, 1967 in Budapest, Hungary) was a Hungarian actress.

Life

The daughter of the industrialist Adalbert Hollay studied against the will of their parents after graduating from high school in 1915 not medicine but a drama school. She then played two years at Lustspielhaus in Budapest and other stages in plays like Liliom and Pygmalion.

Her first role in a Hungarian silent film, she received in 1913, from 1916 it was common to see on the screen. In 1922 she moved to Germany to play the main role in the film The Lightship. Only from now on, she appeared under the name " Camilla of Hollay ". She appeared during the 20s in several German films, but even before the beginning of the sound film era their tasks were always insignificant. Following her marriage to a journalist in 1931, she retired into private life.
