Camille Montagne

Jean Pierre François Camille Montagne (* February 15, 1784 in Vaudoy -en- Brie, † December 5, 1866 ) was a French military physician and biologist ( Bryology and Mycology ). His botanical and mycological author abbreviation is " Mont ".

As a 14 - year-old he joined the Navy in 1798 and accompanied Napoleon's Egyptian expedition. In 1802 he returned, studied medicine and two years later became military surgeon. In 1832 he retired and devoted himself to the study of the cryptogams.
