Camillo Cibin

Camillo Cibin ( born June 5, 1926 in Salgareda di Piave, † October 25, 2009 in Rome ) was an Italian long-standing papal bodyguards and 1972-2006 head of Vatican security forces.

Life

Cibin was in papal services since 1947. In 1963, he was under Pope Paul VI. top bodyguards. Cibin took the assassination attempt on Pope John Paul II on May 13, 1981 assassin Ali Agca fixed. He also rescued the Pope, when he was attacked in 1982 in Fatima of a confused Lefebvre pendant with a knife. Camillo Cibin led the police far more than the Vatican's age limit of 75 years out until 3 June 2006.
