Camillo Federici

Camillo Federici (actually Giovanni Battista Viassolo; born April 9, 1749 Poggiolo di Garessio in the province of Mondovi, † December 23, 1802 in Turin ) was an Italian playwright.

Giovanni Viassolo studied law at the University of Turin and in 1784 Judge to Moncalieri near Turin. But out of love for the actress Camilla Ricci, he went over to the theater and called himself now Federici, contracted from fedele alla Ricci.

Federici was the founder of a new dramatic school.
