Camillo Karl Schneider

Camillo Karl Schneider ( born April 7, 1876 in Gröppendorf; † January 5, 1951 in Berlin) was a German botanist focusing on Dendrology, landscape architect and writer. Its official botanical author abbreviation is " CKSchneid. "; earlier was also the abbreviation " cutting. " in use.

1907 to 1908 he undertook a trip to Bulgaria, Serbia and the Caucasus; In 1913 he traveled to western China. 1915 to 1918 he worked at the Arnold Arboretum in Boston, Massachusetts. Schneider has written a variety of botanical and horticultural journals.

One of his major works is Illustrated Handbook of Hardwood Science ( 1904-1912 ). He was also Associate Editor of Garden Beauty ( 1920-1942 ). Together with Ernst Graf Silva Tarouca he wrote the manuals free- Perennials (1910 ), free- Deciduous (1912 ) and field - coniferous woods ( 1913).

Camillo Karl Schneider worked with other landscape architects and Adolf Loos together on a garden design of Müllerova vila in Prague.

The German Dendrologic society gives Camillo Karl Schneider in honor of an annual endowed with 2,500 euros Nachwuchsförderpreis for outstanding scientific work on Dendrology. This work of undergraduate and graduate students to be excellent, in connection with woody topics.
