Cämmerer See

The Cämmerer Lake is an approximately 18 -acre lake south of Peenemunde. The average depth of the lake is 1.1 meters, the maximum depth is about 3.5 meters.

The lake was originally a bay of the Peene River. He was born when the construction of the Army Research Center Peenemünde dikes were built. The lake bottom is covered by an on average 1.1 meter thick layer of mud, which was created by discharges from the time before the dikes and ash from the Peenemünde Kraftwerk.

The lake now serves as bathing and fishing. On its banks the " nature trail Usedom " takes over.
