Camp Point is a village in Adams County in the western part of the U.S. state of Illinois. In 2000, Camp Point had 1244 inhabitants.

The journalist and historian Allan Nevins was born on 20 May 1890 in Camp Point.

Geography

Camp Point is located at 40 ° 20'30 " north latitude and 91 ° 30'54 " west longitude. The city covers more than 2.4 square kilometers, which consist exclusively of land area.

Camp Point is located 36 km east of the Mississippi River, which forms the border with Missouri. About 50 km east of the city flows the Illinois River.
