Campana, Buenos Aires Province
Campana is a city in eastern Argentina, in the province of Buenos Aires. It lies on the Paraná de las Palmas, 75 km from the city of Buenos Aires and only 20 m above sea level The international road Panamericana connects Campana Buenos Aires, Rosario, Córdoba, and northern Argentina. The area is 982 km ² and the population of 84,000 ( census INDEC 2001).
Campana was founded on July 6, 1885. As the founder of the brothers Luis and Eduardo Costa are considered. Built in 1580 Captain Luis de Águila a hut in the zone " Cañada de la Cruz ". This is the oldest date on the reputation of the place. In 1759 it was renamed in " Rincón de Campana ".
The city's character is drawn through the metal industry and oil refinery. There are important international companies such as Esso, Tenaris Siderca and Toyota here.
