Campbell County (Kentucky)

The Campbell County is a county located in the state of Kentucky in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Alexandria.

Geography

The County is located in northeastern Kentucky, bordering the state of Ohio - separated by the Ohio River - and has an area of 413 square kilometers, of which 20 square kilometers are water surface. It borders in Kentucky clockwise to the Pendleton County and Kenton County.

History

The Campbell County was formed on December 17, 1794 from parts of Harrison County, Mason County and Scott County. It was named for Colonel John Campbell, an officer in the Revolutionary War.
