Campbell County (Kentucky)
The Campbell County is a county located in the state of Kentucky in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Alexandria.
Geography
The County is located in northeastern Kentucky, bordering the state of Ohio - separated by the Ohio River - and has an area of 413 square kilometers, of which 20 square kilometers are water surface. It borders in Kentucky clockwise to the Pendleton County and Kenton County.
History
The Campbell County was formed on December 17, 1794 from parts of Harrison County, Mason County and Scott County. It was named for Colonel John Campbell, an officer in the Revolutionary War.
Historical sights
- In Melbourne, there is the 1983 recorded in the NRHP historic, built by German hermits Tiemeyer House.
- Also in the context of the German settlers of the area, found in 1880 by Peter Kort Kort Grocery erected.

According to the census in 2000 lived in Campbell County 88 616 people in 34,742 households and 23,103 families. The population density was 226 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was made up of 96.64 percent White, 1.57 percent African American, 0.17 percent Native American, 0.54 percent Asian, 0.01 percent of residents from the Pacific Islander and 0.31 percent from other races groups; 0.76 percent were descended from two or more races. 0.86 percent of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 34,742 households out of which 32.5 percent have children under the age of 18 living with them. 50.3 percent were married couples living together, 12.3 percent were single mothers, 33.5 percent were non-families, 28.6 percent of all households and 9.9 percent had someone living alone at the age of 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.49 and the average family size was 3.09.
Based on the county the population was spread from 25.6 percent population under 18 years, 9.8 percent between 18 and 24 years, 30.6 percent between 25 and 44 years, 21.3 percent between 45 and 64 years and 12.6 percent were 65 years old or older. The average age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 93.2 males. For every 100 females aged 18 years old or over, there were 89.1 men statistically.
The median income for a household was $ 41,903, and the median income for a family was $ 51,481. Males have a median income of $ 37,931, women $ 27,646. The per capita income was $ 20,637. 7.3 percent of families and 9.3 percent of the population lived below the poverty line. Of these, 12.2 percent were children or adolescents under 18 years old and 7.9 percent are 65 years old.
