Campello TI

Campello was until March 31, 2012, a municipality in the district of Faido in the district of Leventina in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. The village is situated on the eastern flank of the Valle Leventina 1367 meters. At Campello part of the resort Carì.

Merger with Faido

Campello was from 1853 to an independent municipality, as it split from Calpiogna. In a referendum held in March 2004, the citizens of Campello rejected the merger of their community with Faido, Osco, Mairengo, Calpiogna, Anzonico, Rossura, Calonico, Chiggiogna, Cavagnago and Sobrio.

On April 1, 2012 Campello merged with the municipalities Anzonico, Calpiogna, Cavagnago, Chironico, Mairengo and Osco to the existing community Faido.
