Campina (company)

Campina was a global Dutch dairy company in the form of a BV. Group headquarters was located in Zaltbommel, the Netherlands. In 2008 the company merged with Friesland Foods to FrieslandCampina. German subsidiary of the Group is the Campina GmbH & Co. KG, based in Heilbronn.

The Campina BV reported 2007 global revenues of 4.032 billion euros, of which 1.299 billion in the Netherlands, 1.069 billion in Germany, 360 million in Belgium and 683.7 million in the other countries of the European Union. Employees were 6,814 employees. There have been processed 4.8 million tons of milk.

Shareholders and thus owners of Campina are Dutch, Belgian and German farmers, in 2007 it was 7,768.

The three main brands in the consumer business of the company are Campina, love ( in Germany and Austria ) and Mona ( in the Netherlands). They achieved in 2007 48 % of sales. Other trademarks are Optimel / Optiwell ( in the Netherlands and Germany ), Campina Fruttis and Neszny (Russia), Campina Milner (cheese, in the Netherlands and Southern Europe).
