Views of the Campsie Fells

The Campsie Fells are a range of hills in central Scotland, they extend from east to west, from Denny Muir after Dumgoyne, in Stirlingshire. The southern extension falls into the catchment area of East Dunbartonshire. The highest point of the ridge is 578 m Earl 's Seat. The chain overlooks the villages of Strathblane, Lennoxtown Blanefield and in the South, Killearn to the West and Fintry to the North. The Fintry Hills lie further to the north, Kilpatrick Hills lie to the West and the Kilsyth Hills to the east.

The name derives from one of the hills called Campsie ( crooked Feenhügel ) from, in turn, cam from the Scottish Gaelic ( crooked ) and Sith (Fairy) from. Fells has the origin of the word altnordischem fjal ( hill ) from.

The headwaters of the Carron lies in the Campsies.
