The 37th Canadian General Election (English 37th Canadian General Election, French 37e élection fédérale canadienne ) took place on 27 November 2000. Were elected 301 Members of the Canadian House of Commons (English House of Commons, French Chambre des Communes ).
The ruling Liberal Party of Prime Minister Jean Chrétien was able to win an absolute majority and benefited from the fragmentation of the right political spectrum. In addition, the New Democrats one of their worst election results ever achieved. The turnout was 61.2 %.
