Canaro, Rovigo

Canaro is a Northeast Italian municipality ( comune ) with 2867 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Rovigo in Veneto. The municipality is situated approximately 17.5 kilometers south-southwest of Rovigo in the butt and about 11.5 kilometers north-east of Ferrara and directly borders the province of Ferrara (Emilia -Romagna).

History

The first written mention dates from the 11th century.

Canaro maintains a partnership with the Polish community in the powiat Pszczew Międzyrzecki.

Traffic

Passing through the municipality, the Strada Statale 16 Adriatica. The train station of Canaro is located on the railway line Bologna - Padua.
