Candia Lomellina

Candia Lomellina is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1616 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Province of Pavia in Lombardy. The municipality is situated approximately 43.5 kilometers east of Pavia in Lomellina and directly borders the provinces of Alessandria and Vercelli ( Piedmont both ). The Sesia, which flows a few miles south into the Po, forms the western boundary of the municipality.

History

Frederick I confirmed in a document in 1164 claim to domination over Pavia Candia.

1928, the district Terrasa (formerly an independent municipality ) incorporated.

Traffic

The train station of Candia Lomellina lies on the railway line Mortara - Asti. Passing through the municipality, the Strada Statale 596 you dei Cairoli Castello d' Agogna to Casale Monferrato.
