Candy Clark

Candace June " Candy" Clark ( born June 20, 1947 in Norman, Oklahoma, United States) is an American film actress and former fashion model.

Life

Candy Clark grew up as the daughter of a chef up in Texas, where she was a student of Trimble Tech High School in Fort Worth. As a 18 -year-old Clark moved to New York City, where she earned her first money as a model. Discovered and promoted by director John Huston was Clark in 1972 in the film drama Fat City for the first time on camera.

However, international fame status she attained a year later, when she was in American Graffiti in 1973 in front of the camera; for her portrayal she was nominated for the 1974 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. 1977 Clark was considered for the role of Princess Leia in Star Wars into consideration, but lost at the casting Carrie Fisher.

Clark, who talked with the director Nicolas Roeg liaisons and the actor Jeff Bridges in the 1970s, was married twice. Both her marriage to actor Marjoe Gortner, with whom she was married from 1978 to 1979, as well as their relationship with film producer Jeff Wald - the marriage lasted from 1987 to 1988 - fell apart.

Clark played in 2011 in the play Images of Louise Brooks by Sven Mundt, which had premiered in Berlin.
