Candy Dulfer

Candy Dulfer ( born September 19, 1969 in Amsterdam) is a Dutch saxophonist, which is stylistically located in the radio.

Life

At the age of six years began Dulfer - encouraged by her father Hans Dulfer, who is himself a well-known saxophonist - with the saxophone, soprano and alto saxophone in particular. Dulfer was influenced thereby also of the saxophonist Sonny Rollins and David Sanborn. At age eleven, a first recording with 14 followed finally the first band Funky material.

The breakthrough came in the late 1980s/early Dulfer 90s, first with the Single Lily was Here (1989 ) from the soundtrack to the film, which she recorded with Dave Stewart ( Eurythmics ). 1990 also appeared the album Graffiti Bridge, on the Dulfer as an accompanying musician Prince is heard, and Dulfer own album Saxuality, which earned her a nomination for Best Pop Instrumental Album at the Grammy Awards. Also in 2007, she presented on Dutch television Candy meets ... you hit it along with Sheila E., Maceo Parker, Hans Dulfer, Van Morrison, Dave Stewart, and Mavis Staples.

Since May 18, 2012 Dulfer for the Dutch radio station FM Sublime moderated ( formerly Arrow Jazz FM ) the consignment Candy Store, in which they presented their personal favorite pieces of funk, soul and jazz.
