Canet-en-Roussillon

Canet -en- Roussillon is a French municipality with 13,091 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Pyrénées- Orientales in the Languedoc- Roussillon region. It belongs to the district and Perpignan is the capital of the canton of Canet -en- Roussillon.

Geography

Canet -en- Roussillon is located east of Perpignan on the Mediterranean coast. The Tet flows south of Canet into the sea. The southern part of the village adjacent to the brackish, three kilometers long and up to two kilometers wide Etang de Canet -Saint- Nazaire.

Neighboring communities of Canet -en- Roussillon are: Sainte -Marie in the north, Villelongue -de- la- Salt marsh in the northwest, Perpignan and CABESTANY in the West, Saint- Nazaire Saint-Cyprien in the southwest and the south.
