Canon Cat

The Canon Cat is a 1987 by Jef Raskin, Canon developed, electronic writing system.

It differs from other computers in the 1980s mainly through its innovative user interface. Instead of an operating concept based on mouse, icons and command line, the Canon Cat support to their special keys enhanced keyboard.

After six months and 20,000 units sold, Canon introduced a distribution. Despite its innovative concept, the Canon Cat could not prevail against the emerging word processing programs for the PC.
