Canso (crater)

Canso is an approximately 27 km impact crater on Mars. It is located approximately 450 kilometers west of the landing site of the Mars probe Viking 1 and even closer to the Kasei Vallis.

It was named by the Canadian astronomers Carlyle Smith Beals after its birthplace. The name was created in 1988 by the International Astronomical Union ( IAU) recognized.
