Cantera (software)

Cantera is a free computational chemistry software, which is used to solve problems of the reaction kinetics. The software is used for the microelectronics industry, in the automotive sector for combustion processes and in the chemical processing industry.

The software was developed in 1998 by Prof. Dave Goodwin at the California Institute of Technology and programmed in C , but can be combined with C, Python, Fortran 90 and Matlab use the toolkit. Cantera has the functionality of CHEMKIN - II with some additional extensions. The software is used in teaching in the lectures at the Universities of Caltech, Berkeley and Stanford. It is distributed as free software in source code under the terms of the revised BSD license.
