Cantons of the Guadeloupe department
The French overseas department of Guadeloupe was originally composed of 43 cantons in 3 arrondissements. But after the Arrondissement of Saint- Martin -Saint- Barthelemy, which consisted of three cantons with a total of two communities, was disbanded on 22 February 2007, there are now two arrondissements in Guadeloupe. The two communities from the dissolved district, Saint -Barthélemy and Saint- Martin, were collectivity d' outre- mer of France. Thus, the Zahle of the cantons to 40 and the number of the arrondissement reduced to two.
