Cap Malheureux

Cap Malheureux is a place in the district of Riviere du Rempart in Mauritius. The town has 4427 inhabitants ( 2000). Cap Malheureux is also a Cape in the north of the island near Mapou. The Cape is known for a church with striking red roof which is common motif for postcards or photographs. 1810 landed near Cap Malheureux the British with about 1,000 men and was subsequently conquered the island from the French.
