Capaccio

Capaccio is a town with 22,349 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) in the province of Salerno in the Campania region.

Geography

Capaccio located on the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea, about 50 km south of Salerno.

The eleven districts are Cafasso / Borgo Nuovo, Capaccio Scalo, Capo di Fiume, Gromola / Foce Sele, Laura Ponte Barizzo, Rettifilo / Vannulo, Spinazzo / Varco Cilentano, Santa Venere, seude, Torre / Licinella Vuccolo Maiorano. The neighboring municipalities are Agropoli, Alba Ella, Cicerale, Eboli, Giungano, Roccadaspide and Trentinara. The place is part of the Costiera Cilentana.

Attractions

In the field of community Capaccio is the excavation site of the ancient city of Paestum, which is registered in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Site.
