Life

Michele Salvemini began his career under the name Mikimix. He took in 1995 with the song succede solo nei movie and a year later in part with the song Donne in minigonne make the playoffs, Sanremo Giovani and 1997 with the song e la notte se ne va at the Festival di Sanremo in the Newcomer category. These three songs are included in his first album La mia buona stella, which was released by Sony Music in 1997 and despite the name (Eng. My lucky star ) was not very successful.

Under its present stage name Caparezza (which in the dialect of his hometown of Molfetta " curly head " means ) he published in 1999 the demos Ricomincio as Capa, Con Caparezza ... nella monnezza and Zappa. In 2000 he recorded his first album Caparezza? , Were extracted from the four singles, including the sung by Angelo Branduardi song La fitta sassaiola dell'ingiuria with Virgin Records.

Achievements

He had his breakthrough with Verità supposte whose Fuori dal tunnel singles and Vengo Dalla Luna 2004 Italy became summer hits. Overall, the album has sold over 100,000 copies and was awarded with the decoupled singles a platinum record and two gold records and was also awarded the Premio della Critica Lunezia.

His third album Habemus Capa, an allusion to Habemus papam (We have a Pope ), was released on 23 March 2006 by Virgin Records. It came in fifth in the Italian charts and was sold until the end of May over 40,000 times, which is why Caparezza received his third gold record. He himself describes the album as a sarcastic disco Postumo di un cantante ancora in vita ( to German as: plate from the estate of a living singer ). In his Habemus Capa tour in 2006 he has performed about 100 times in the whole of Italy.

From Caparezza called fonoromanzo, a portmanteau of fon ( phon ) and fotoromanzo ( photo story ), it was awarded a gold disc.
