Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Launch Complex 4

Cape Canaveral AFS Launch Complex 4 (LC -4) is a disused start ramp of the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Merritt Iceland, Cape Canaveral, Florida, USA. It was used in the 1950s and early 1960s for takeoffs to the development and testing of the Bomarc - Abfangsflugkörpers, the Redstone rocket and the Matador cruise missile.

History

Originally, the launch pad was built together with LC-1, LC -2 and LC-3 for the Snark cruise missile program.

After the last Bomarc launch in 1960 some of the buildings of the starting complex were used as medical care facilities in the Mercury program. Finally, the starting place in the 1980s was used for aerostat radar balloons.
