Cape May County, New Jersey
Cape May County is a county located in the state of New Jersey. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Cape May Court House.
Geography
The County is located in the extreme south of New Jersey, bounded on the east and south by the Atlantic Ocean and has an area of 1607 square kilometers, of which 946 square kilometers are water surface.

According to the census of 2000, there were 102 326 people in the county. There were 42 148 households, and 27,354 families. The population density was 155 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 91.57 % White, 5.06 % African American, 0.18 % Native American, 0.65 % Asian, 0.04 % Pacific Islander residents from the and 1.35 % from other races groups; 1.16% were descended from two or more races. 3.30% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 42 148 households out of which 26.10% have children under the age of 18 living with them. 50.50 % were married couples living together, 10.90 % had a female householder with no husband. 35.10 % were non-families. 30.20 % of all households and 14.70% had someone living alone at the age of 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.36 and the average family size was 2.94.
Based on the county the population was spread out with 22.30 % under the age of 18, 6.40 % from 18 to 24, 25.50% from 25 to 44 years, 25.60 % between 45 and 64 years and 20.20% were 65 years old or older. The average age was 42 years. For every 100 females there were 92.60 males, 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.80 males.
The median income for a household was $ 41,591, and the median income for a family was $ 51,402. Males had a median income of $ 39,340, women $ 27,621. The per capita income was $ 24,172. 8.60 % of the population and 6.40% of families are below the poverty line. 11.70 % of those under age 18 and 7.30 % were 65 years or older.
