Cape Morris Jesup

Geographical location

The Cape Morris Jesup, the northernmost point of the island of Greenland, a little further north are only the small Kaffeklubben Island and some even smaller gravel banks.

It is 1888.08 kilometers south of the North Pole across the Arctic Circle and 709.39 km. The cape is located on the mountainous northern coast of Pearyland, the northernmost region of Greenland. To the north of Cape Morris Jesup, the terrain falls under the ice of the Arctic Ocean rather steeply into the Arctic Ocean basin.

The cape was first achieved in 1900 by Robert Peary and after Morris Ketchum Jesup, one of its financiers, named.
