Cape St George Lighthouse

Cape St George Lighthouse was a lighthouse from 1860 to 1899 in operation. There is a tower at the Jervis Bay in Jervis Bay Territory in Australia.

As the existing sandstone lighthouse was completed and sent from his position light signals, it was found that he was not optimally positioned and its light could not be seen from the north. He warned not sufficient from the dangerous reefs off the coast. Yet he remained until the year 1896 in operation and then fell prey to destruction.

It was destroyed probably because he was incorrectly positioned or because there was irritation when views of two lighthouses, also located on the other side of Point Perpendicular Lighthouse from the sea, or it came to exercise bombardment of the Australian Royal Australian Navy.
