Capercaillie is a Scottish folk-rock group, which was founded about 1984 by Donald Shaw and Karen Matheson. The name is the Scottish Gaelic term for capercaillie. In 1984 she published her first album Cascade. With the song Coisich A ruin came in 1992 for the first time in a sung Scottish Gaelic single in the UK Top 40 for the album Delirium on which this title is included Capercaillie received a gold record.
