Capio

Capio is a Swedish healthcare group based in Gothenburg.

The Group was founded in 1994 and operates approximately 100 facilities with more than 11,000 employees at 60 sites in five European countries - Sweden, Norway, France, Great Britain and Germany. The annual turnover amounts to approximately € 1.4 billion. Owner of the Capio Group are three international private equity funds: Apax Europe Funds ( 45%), Nordic Capital Fund VI ( 44%) and Apax France Funds ( 11%). Since 2007, Capio has been active in the German healthcare market as a private carrier of acute, specialist and rehabilitation clinics, nursing centers, and medical care centers. About 1,650 employees work in more than 20 facilities in 11 locations. These include hospitals, veins specialist clinics, health care centers ( MVZ ), rehabilitation facilities and nursing centers. Recently (2012 ) has acquired the German Capio Klinik GmbH, based in Fulda 90 percent of the shares in Blaustein Clinic (vascular clinic Dr. Berg and Skin Clinic of Ulm).
