Capital Department, Catamarca

The Departamento Capital is located in the center of the province of Catamarca in northwestern Argentina and is one of the 16 administrative units in the province.

It is bordered to the north by the Department of Ambato, on the east by the departments Fray Mamerto Esquiú and Valle Viejo and in the south and west by the Departamento Capayán.
