Capital Department, San Juan

The Departamento Capital (San Juan ) is in the heart of the San Juan province in western Argentina is one of 19 administrative units in the province.

It is bordered to the north by the Departamento Chimbas, on the east by the department of Santa Lucía, to the south by the Rawson and to the west by the Departamento Rivadavia.

The capital of the department of Capital (San Juan ) is the eponymous San Juan.

Population

According to estimates by the INDEC, the population increased from 112 778 inhabitants (2001) to 116 511 inhabitants in 2005.
