Capital Requirements Directive

As the Capital Requirements Directive ( German title: " Capital Requirements Directive " ) are referred to 2006/48/EC ( Banking Directive ) and 2006/49/EC ( CRD ), the two Directives of the European Union. Occasionally, only Directive 2006/48/EC is therefore meant.

Implementation of Basel II

In the guidelines of Basel II will be implemented by the EU. Included are minimum capital requirements for banks, bank supervisory test requirements for banks and disclosure requirements on banks.

Recast to implementation of Basel III

In December 2010, the Basel Committee has adopted a comprehensive revision of the III regulatory framework for banking supervision under the working title of Basel. Also, this document should be endorsed by the EU. To this end, the European Commission has presented a proposal in July 2011, which is often referred to in the press as CRD IV. However, the proposal consists of two documents: from the Directive 2013/36/EU ( Directive), by the so-called CRD IV Implementation Act of 28 August 2013 ( Federal Law Gazette I p 3395 ) was transposed into national law, and the Regulation (EU) No 575/ 2013 ( Regulation), which is directly applicable. Both are entered according Communication of the European Commission on 17 July 2013 force, the new rules for determining capital adequacy from 1 January 2014 are to be applied.
