Cappel (Moselle)
Cappel is a commune with 690 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district Forbach, to Canton Freyming -Merlebach and in 2001 founded community association Freyming -Merlebach.
Geography
The 6 km ² comprehensive municipal area is in the north from the source stream of the German Nied ( a Saar Creek ), to the south by Rimmel Hope creek that flows through Muttersbach Albe and the Saar, limited. Between the two spring-fed streams that flow in opposite directions, Cappel is located on the watershed. Forests account for about 15 % of the municipal area, most of the gently undulating terrain consists of arable and grassland.
Cappel consists of two runs in the east-west direction settlement axes, with the northern to the Rue de l' Église with some old farms representing the elderly. The southern axis along the National Road 56 has only emerged in the 20th century. Both axes are connected through the streets Rue de la Libération and Rue du Château Neuf -scale north-south direction, extending from each other in about 200 meters distance. This was in the middle of the village, a two -hectare agricultural area.
Neighboring communities of Cappel are Seingbouse in the north, Farschviller in the northeast, Loupershouse in the east, Hoste in the southeast and south, Barst and Biding in the west and the sheerest Marienthal district in the northwest.

The population in Cappel grew between the 1980s and the beginning of the 21st century by almost half; Since then, a slight decrease.

Economy and infrastructure
The old Cappel is dominated by agriculture, while many houses are on he National Road newer that arose due to the favorable transport connections to major industrial parks in the area, in the commuting part of the inhabitants.

By Cappel national road leads 56 ( Saint- Avold - Sarralbe ). The Farébersviller port on the Paris -Strasbourg motorway is five kilometers from Cappel.
