Capriol Suite
Capriol Suite is a musical work by the English composer Peter Warlock, created in October 1926. It is a suite of six dances that are taken according to the composer of the 1588 Orchésographie incurred by the French priest and Renaissance choreographers Thoinot Arbeau. Warlocks biographer Cecil Gray wrote: " If one compares this with the pieces that has made them the composer, it is apparent that they can be viewed as an independent work in every respect. "
The suite is the most famous piece by the composer. It consists of the following sentences:
First Warlock wrote the piece for two pianos and for string orchestra. 1928 was a version for symphony orchestra.
