Capt. Nathaniel B. Palmer House

The Captain Nathaniel B. Palmer House is a historic building in Stonington, Connecticut. It served as the home of Nathaniel Brown Palmer, one of the first three people who have seen the Antarctic.

Built in Greek Revival and Italianate in style building was built in 1852 by Nathaniel Palmer and his brother, Alexander Smith Palmer. It is located on a hill overlooking the city and is particularly striking because of the octagonal cupola on the roof.

Up for purchase by the Stonington Historical Society, which campaigns for the preservation of historic buildings in the town, in 1994, it was unclear whether the building is demolished. After the purchase, but it has been prepared and contemporary recorded in 1996 in the list of National Historic Landmarks.

The building now houses a museum, will be exhibited in the images and data from Palmers career as a sailor.
