Captain (sports)

In many team sports, a player has as team captain (also: captain, team leader or English Captain ) a prominent position in the game and the team. This concerns formally primarily the opportunity to talk during the game with the referee. In general, this captain is elected by the team members, or determined by the coach.

It represents the interests of the other player of his team against the club, the coach and the referee.

Hockey

In hockey, there exist two assistants who may represent to exercise the rights captain during the game next to the captain. Handball
