Caramell

Caramell is a Swedish Euro Dance Group. The band consists of the two singers Malin and Katia and producers Jorge " Vasco " Vasconcelo and Juha " Millboy " Myllylä.

Band History

The group became known by the Internet phenomenon, Caramelldansen, a continually repeating flash animation showing the characters Mai and Mii from the intro video of the Japanese eroge - Ren'ai Adventure Popotan. The animation contains an accelerated version of the song Caramelldansen from Caramells Super God album. Started as an Internet phenomenon, the popular Caramelldansen animation has been copied, among other things with characters from various anime and video game series.

The popularity of the song reached its peak in late 2007 and led in early 2008 followed by two single releases to a new release of an accelerated version of the album Super God in Japan. There the single Caramelldansen first reached number 1 in the international charts, and shortly thereafter ranked 16th in the combined charts international and national publications. Their single Om du var min reached number 7 on the official Swedish charts.

The band split up in 2002 and has since released any new songs more. The old songs were re-released but including Japan, Sweden, the Netherlands and the UK in a new look in 2008.
