Carbon County (Pennsylvania)
Carbon County is a county located in the state of Pennsylvania in the United States. In the 2000 census, the county had 58 802 inhabitants and a population density of 60 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Jim Thorpe.
Geography
The county has an area of 1,003 square kilometers, of which 16 square kilometers are water surface.

In the area of settlement was founded in 1746 Gnadenhutten, which was destroyed in 1755 an Indian raid, Lehighton was built.
