Carboxy-lyases
Decarboxylases are enzymes that degrade the carboxylic acid groups (- COOH). The degradation process CO2 is an end product.
For example, a very common decarboxylation enzyme for the degradation of acids with α - keto permanent needs (eg pyruvic acid). Vitamin B1 ( Thiazolpyrophosphat ) is a an enzyme- coenzyme complex.
In contrast carboxylase enzymes that incorporate carbon dioxide into their substrate.
