Carcar

In 2005, the territory of the metropolitan area was expanded by Metro Cebu Danao City in the north, San Fernando and Carcar in the south.

Carcar was raised on 1 July 2007 for the city.

Geography

Carcar is located approximately 40 km south of Cebu City and is bordered to the north by San Fernando, on the south by Sibonga, on the west by Barili and Aloguinsan, to the east lies the Strait of Bohol.

The urban area is generally flat. The proportion of the area with a slope less than 18% is 78.7 %. Have surfaces with a slope between 18 and 50 % accounted for 19.3% of the total, have surfaces with a slope of more than 50% of a share of only 1.9% of the total area. The highest point with a little more than 660 m above sea level in Baranggaay Napo. In inland from the Carcar Guadalupe Mabugnao Mainit Hot Spring National Park is located.

The rainy season lasts from May to October is the dry season from January to May, a transitional season between October and January.
