The Cardrona River is a river in the Otago region of the South Island of New Zealand. He is, together with the about 700 m before flowing Hunter River one of the first tributaries of the Clutha River five kilometers after its origin at the outflow of Lake Wanaka.

The Cardrona flows through the narrow, steep-walled Cardrona Valley for 40 km to the north. Here is one of the hardest streets of New Zealand, the Crown Range Road. On this road lies the small town of Cardrona, the west of Mt Cardrona Cardrona and the ski area. The river crosses east of Wanaka State Highway 6 and then flows near Albert Town in the Clutha.
