Carel Godin de Beaufort
Carel Godin de Beaufort, actually Jonkheer Karel Pieter Anthonie January Hubertus Godin de Beaufort, Army van Maarn s Maarsbergen, ( born April 10, 1934 in Maarsbergen, The Netherlands; † August 2, 1964 in Cologne) was a Dutch Formula 1 racing driver.
Career
De Beaufort took from the May 26, 1958 participated in 28 Grand Prix and scored a total of four championship points. He was killed in 1964 at the Nürburgring during practice for the Grand Prix of Germany in his outdated private Porsche 718 from the year 1961. Mine in the stretch he lost control of his Porsche went off the road and hit a tree. De Beaufort was thrown from the car and was paralyzed because his spinal cord was injured.
