Cargoitalia

Cargo Italia SpA was an Italian cargo airline based in Milan, based on the Milan Malpensa Airport. The administrative headquarters was in Lonate Pozzolo.

History

Cargo Italia was founded in 2003 and took over in 2009, the air cargo business of the dissolved Alitalia Cargo, but without the marketing rights to the belly capacities of passenger aircraft operated by Alitalia, which kept this after its restructuring. Flight operations resumed after an interruption with first two McDonnell Douglas MD -11F. Air traffic was finally completely stopped at 21 December 2011 due to liquidation.

Objectives

Cargo Italia led through cargo flights to worldwide destinations. Were on a regular schedule line operated connections from Milan via New York to Chicago and Milan via Dubai to Hong Kong and in each case on the same route back.

Fleet

As of September 2011, the fleet of the aircraft consisted of three Cargo Italia:

In addition, a letter of intent for the purchase of five Airbus A330- 200F and three options was signed.
