CargoNet

CargoNet A / S ( CN) is a Norwegian railway transport companies. It operates freight traffic on the national railway network, which is managed by Jernbaneverket ( JBV ). Beginning of 2002, the state railway Norges Statsbaner ( NSB) separated partially from its freight division NSB Gods. While the NSB retained 55 % of the shares in CargoNet, the Swedish company Green Cargo acquired a 45% stake. CargoNet operates freight terminal for the transhipment of swap bodies in Narvik, Bodø, Fauske, Mo i Rana, Mosjøen, Trondheim, Åndalsnes, Oslo Alnabru, Drammen, Bergen, Stavanger and Kristiansand, where (usually) are also ports. The marshalling yard Oslo Alnabru east of Oslo Sentralstasjon is the main terminal. CN also leads performances by Sweden.

CargoNet focuses on the complete train and combined transport. These are the freight areas that are worthwhile in the density of the Norwegian railway network. Norway is a sparsely populated country where 80 % of the population live on the coast. Therefore, container and other removable containers make the transfer between ship, road and rail easier. In addition, Green Cargo operates single wagonload traffic in Southern Norway until after Drammen.

For the traction the Elektrolokbaureihen El 14, El 16 and 119 CE for the traction of trains on electrified lines, as well as the Diesellokbaureihen Tue, 8, CD 66 and CD 312 are on the non-electrified routes. For shunting and construction train services for JBV several small locomotives are used.
