Carini

Carini is a municipality in the province of Palermo in the Italian region Sicily, with 36 467 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).

Location and data

Carini is located 25 kilometers west of Palermo. The inhabitants mainly work in agriculture and in industry.

The main village is situated on a hill, the village of Villa Grazia is between SS 113 and the coast. Two connection points ( Carini and Villa di Carini ) allow access to the A29. History

The Catacombs

In the district of Villa Grazia di Carini an early Christian catacomb is currently being explored archaeologically, probably the largest in Sicily.
