Carl Fogarty

Carl Fogarty ( born July 1, 1965 in Blackburn, North West England, England) is a former British motorcycle racer. To date, he is one of the most successful drivers in the history of the Superbike World Championship.

Fogarty, also called Foggy, the Superbike World Championship, winning four times. He is known for his fast cornering speed and was also successful in the Tourist Trophy on the Isle of Man. In 1992, he presented with a 750 cc Yamaha on a new lap record. Fogarty needed for the 60.7 km long round on the Snaefell Mountain Course 18 minutes and 18.8 seconds, which corresponds to an average speed of 198.93 km / h. This record was only seven years later by Jim Moodie broken on a Honda RC45.

After a racing accident in the Australian Phillip Iceland in 2000, Foggy had to resign from active racing for health reasons. Carl Fogarty is until today with four world titles and 59 race wins the most successful driver in the Superbike World Championship.

In 2002, Ducati presented in his honor a limited edition model (only 300 pieces ), which Monster S4 Fogarty. Legendary are his (mostly ) successful battles with Scott Russell, Aaron Slight and Troy Corser.
