Carl Friedrich Flemming

Carl Friedrich Flemming (* December 27 1799 in Jiiterbog; † January 27, 1880 in Wiesbaden ) was a German psychiatrist.

Life

Flemming received his doctorate in Berlin. He then worked as an assistant doctor in the " lunatic asylum sun stone " in Pirna ( Saxony). In 1823 he joined because of a reputation of Mecklenburg Grand Duke Friedrich Franz I to Schwerin in the country a service. Flemming 1830 was the first director of the new hospital at the Sachsenring Berg (Carl - Friedrich Flemming Clinic ). In 1854 he resigned from this position in the dispute, and then practiced as a neurologist in Schwerin.

His son was the anatomist and cell biologist Walther Flemming ( 1843-1905 ).
