Carl Friedrich Heinrich Credner

Karl Friedrich Heinrich Credner ( born March 13, 1809 in Walter Hausen, † September 28, 1876 in Halle / Saale ) was a German geologist. His son Carl Hermann Credner (1841-1913) was a professor of geology in Leipzig.

Credner has described later named after him mineral Crednerit first time. In Flegessen he discovered Posidonienschiefer.
